PUBLICATION | Gender Mainstreaming Toolkit in Waste Management in Kenya
How can we make waste management more inclusive? By putting gender at the core.
That’s exactly what the new “Gender Mainstreaming Toolkit in Waste Management in Kenya” publication sets out to do. Developed by TheRockGroup in collaboration with Sustainable Inclusive Business Kenya (SIB-K) and commissioned by Climate KIC, this publication supports more inclusive practices in the informal waste sector, starting in Mombasa.
We’re proud to have played a key role in shaping this toolkit. From conducting in-depth gender research across the African waste sector to contributing to the toolkit’s content and quality, we made sure to position the concept of gender inclusion as a driving force.
Inside, you’ll find practical tools and insights: goals and objectives, ripple effects of empowering women and girls, national statistics, case studies, and more. It also tackles persistent gender biases and shows why inclusion is not just the right thing to do, but it is also a smart business move.
Curious to learn how gender inclusion can spark real change in waste management? Dive into the toolkit and explore the possibilities.
