During her bachelor, Rixt majored in Neurology and Psychology at Erasmus University College. Where she learned how our feelings and emotions work consciously and unconsciously, and diving into how this works in the brain. With a minor is Neuroeconomics, she learnt to apply neuroscience and psychology theories to economics and determine how individuals make economic decisions.
Being raised in a family that was environmentally oriented, a passion for sustainability was inherited. So, while choosing the next step in her studies, she decided to make a career out of her passion and delved into sustainability by pursuing a master’s in Industrial Ecology at Leiden University and TU Delft.
She thinks that achieving a sustainable way of life with everyone is an empowering challenge and she is keen to play an active role in the transition to a sustainable and fair economy!
