Come join us for the first edition of our intensive summer school. Here you will learn the ins and outs of sustainable and social business in theory and practice. In this 5 day course you get the tools and trainings to keep a critical view and create impactful change in business, society and the environment.”
Organized by TheRockGroup, the creators of TESLA, and Orange ASEAN, the summer school sustainable and social business will help you learn by doing with guidance from experienced professionals in an unbeatable location!
Our program is designed for young international professionals to come together and receive hands on training in the areas of sustainable business models and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Our students get hands on experience putting business and social theory to practice in the Dutch business market with guidance by our experienced supervisors.

For who:
Our course is designed for international Masters students and recent masters graduates with an interest in sustainable business and social business. We look for active participants with a background or interest in sustainable business and social entrepreneurship. We ask our participants to be ready to engage with peers, lecturers, and business on creating innovative solutions to real life issues.
Our Team:
Our core teaching team consists of experienced teachers and professionals from TheRockGroup to give lectures, trainings and guidance on project work. We also include guest lecturers from representatives of leading companies in sustainability and social business. Each member of our teaching team provides valuable insight into theory and practice of sustainable and social businesses. To give the most real life experience, our team also consists of sponsors and businesses that provide business cases for our students. With these business cases students put theory to practice.
Our Teaching Team:
Bertus Tulleners
Bertus is a Partner at TheRockGroup and experienced in business consultancy and education. He has extensive international work experience and a large network in the Asian Region where he has managed more than 25 sustainable business related projects for companies such as AkzoNobel, DSM, Unilever, Heineken, Shell and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is the creator and designer of the TELSA Minor, a 5 month intensive minor in consultancy hosted by the University of Amsterdam. Bertus is also the initiator and coordinator of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Amsterdam. His extensive business, international, and education experience make him an important part of our teaching team.
Jesse Arnon
Jesse is a senior consultant at TheRockGroup where he manages projects on education, sustainability consulting, and business strategy. He has expertise in inclusive and sustainable finance. He is an experienced teacher and trainer giving as a lecturer at the University of Amsterdam’s Science and Practice course, a program manager of the Sustainable Dutch Business Culture course for the Council on International Educational Exchange.
Kelsey Walker
Kelsey is a consultant at TheRockGroup. She currently works on acquisition and development for TheRockGroup in the areas of transparency and supply chain. She also works in the education line of TheRockGroup in areas of CSR and project management. A recent graduate from the University of Amsterdam she still finds time to be involved in academia. Kelsey will participate in SECAT 2018 in Rome where she will present her research to science and industry organizations.
Guest Lecturers:
Elfrieke van Galen:
Elfieke is one to the top influential women business leaders in the Netherlands. An experienced business leader she has worked as KLM Royal Dutch Airlines SVP Corporate Social Responsibility and Communications, Managing Director KLM City Hopper, CEO KLM UK, VP KLM Cargo Customer Services world wide and much more. Currently she uses her experience in CSR and business at the rock group as a CR and strategy consultant for large organizations such as the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure, Dutch Sea Ports, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Dutch National Railways. Elfrieke still finds time to participate in many board member and advisory positions. She is a member of the board for the Dutch Emission Authorities and Green Deal Board, a supervisory board member of Arcadis NL, GITP, Ymere, and Meerlanded, and a non-executive board member at SEKEM. Also an experienced lecturer and teacher, Elfrieke finds time to yearly teach a course in CSR and be guest speaker at various events through out the year.
