We’re proud to have been part of the Topsector Logistiek event of 2018. We have shown the industry sector how enerGQmobility can optimize performance and reduce fuel consumption using machine learning techniques. This event marked enerGQmobility’s first showcase on benefits of its technologies in road transportation and our first large showcase to gain attention from larger companies within the logistics sector.
enerGQmobility is a subsidiary of TheRockGroup and it adds to our portfolio of Sustainable Business Development where we focus on strengthening initiatives that support the transformation to a more sustainable society. The company focuses on the development of innovative solutions based in machine learning techniques to optimize performance of all transport modes. As result the solutions help to optimize performance of operations which in its turn lead to CO2 reductions in transport.
No wonder they were invited for the Topsector Logistiek event since the logistics sector is with shipping, airlines and road transport a large player in the production of CO2 emissions. International trade-related freight transport is in itself accountable for around 7% of global emissions and accounts for around 30% of all transport related emissions. In the field of international trade The Netherlands belongs to the top countries and we have strong long-term relationships with our neighbour countries. However, the only way to establish growth is if we take on a sustainable approach.
With an added value of 53 million per year and 646.000 jobs the logistic sector is of economic importance for The Netherlands. The Topsector Logistiek supports other (top)sectors: costs that arise from logistics can be between 8/18% of the total costs of a company. For those company’s good organised, efficient and sustainable logistics is not only cost saving but can also strengthen their market position.
